Enhancing the CMA's presence on the international scene and strengthening ties with the international organizations

In recent years, the CMA has endeavored to occupy a distinguished position on the international relationships map in order to benefit from the prominent position of the UAE under its wise leadership both regionally and internationally. Therefore, The CMA has put the achievement of the objectives of national agenda on the top of its priority by strengthening its presence on the international scene. The CMA has become a full member of the IOSCO and it has even taken a seat in the IOSCO's board. In addition, its CEO, Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, serves as vice-president of IOSCO and was also elected to the position of Chairman of the Growing & Emerging Markets Committee (GEMC) and the position of Co-chairman of the Corporate Governance Working Group in the Middle East and North Africa region of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The CMA also supported its activities in other international organizations such as the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), the Union of Arab Securities Authorities and the GCC Capital Market Regulators. It won the hosting of the IOSCO's International Conference for 2020 and hosted the annual conference of Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) held in 2018.
