The national project to raise the awareness of investors and financial inclusion in the State's financial markets

Under the patronage of HE Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and the CMA Chairman of Board of Directors and under the direct guidance of HE Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, CMA's CEO, this project was launched in 2016 under the slogan "Boosts your information grow your investments", to achieve a number of objectives as follows:-

  • Raising the awareness of investors regarding basics and rules of the investment in securities.
  • Educating about regulation and legislations governing offering in the primary market and trading in the secondary market.
  • Avoiding investment- related risks and reducing the possibilities of loss, especially for small investors and beginners in the financial markets.
  • Providing correct information and guidance, and regulations and rules of governance and good management to members of the boards of listed companies and its officials.
  • Educating the public regarding investment products and related parties in the field of financial transactions, including investor relationships departments in order to include more categories to benefit from financial services provided in the markets.
  • Educating students in schools and universities regarding all matters relating to investment in the financial markets.
  • The integrated approach was used to direct the media mission according to a communicational model based on the question: Who? Says: What? To whom? What is the mean?, and what is the effect? The campaign plan includes all elements of the media process such as sender, message, receiver, mean and influence and the integration between different forms of direct individual, group and mass communication is also made in addition to the diversification of used channels including publications, newspapers, satellite TV, radio, websites, social media, digital media and etc.
  • The contents, pillars and bases of the media mission of the campaign were identified and formulated in the form of brief awareness guidelines reached to about 60 messages.
  • The campaign uses a variety of templates, arts and integrated media channels suitable for the used means of communication, including: newspapers (Coverage of events - advertisements for competitions- infographics - awareness programs - fixed awareness sections in newspapers - the periodic magazine of CMA "Securities"), satellite TV (TV programs - video films - multimedia), social networks (Twitter - Facebook - YouTube – Instagram), electronic and digital media (Apps on Governance and Awareness - CMA Portal - video infographics - ATMs - animated advertising screens on important roads and intersections - video folders), Personal communication (awareness seminars, seminars, workshops, guidance exhibitions in the mall and on the sidelines of the relevant events - public and Ramadan councils) and publications (reports - calendars - booklets - brochures - posters - flyers and roll up stands).

In the same context, the CMA has developed a roadmap for its initiative regarding the financial inclusion and works in the coming period towards coordinating with other regulatory authorities in the State and the concerned authorities to achieve and activate the initiative in order to reach financial services to the largest possible number of residents in the UAE.
