The Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) celebrated the UAE’s 53rd National Day in the presence of its Chief Executive Officer, H.E. Dr. Maryam Buti Al Suwaidi. The celebrations included a variety of activities that embodiedthe values of unityand loyalty to the homeland.
The celebrations commenced with a welcoming speech delivered by Dr. Al Suwaidi, who said that this national occasion holds a special place in the hearts of the UAE people. She took pride in the remarkable achievements the UAE has made since its foundation and emphasized the values established by the late founding fathers, which continue to form the basis of prosperity and progress.
In her speech, Dr. Al Suwaidi highlighted the historical moment when the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brother the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum led the efforts to establish the Union. They laid the foundational pillars of the UAE, which has since become a model for the entire world.
She expressed her profound gratitude to the wise leadership led by President H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; his brother H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; and their brothers Rulers of the Emirates, who have been following the path laid by the founding fathers to promote the UAE’s standing as an international destination for innovation and sustainable investment. Dr. Al Suwaidi said that the SCA has been striving to realize this vision by promoting sustainability initiatives aimed at preserving national resources and achieving a balanced economic and social development to protect resources for future generations and enhance the welfare of the UAE nationals and residents.
She emphasized the importance of teamwork, asserting that it is a national value fundamental to the UAE’s development. She urged employees to foster cooperation and work as one team to achieve shared goals.
The celebrations featured a short film about the UAE’s history and achievements at the national level. They included a poetry segment expressing love and belonging to the UAE, in addition to an interactive segment with cultural questions about the UAE’s heritage, which prompted significant engagement from employees.
