The journey of giving started in the UAE from the first moment of declaring the formation of the State of Federation, an approach which was adopted by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan since he started the formation and our blessed nation has continued to adopt the approach of giving and generosity during the empowerment stage led by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan turning the UAE into the pioneer of humanitarian giving and voluntary works, as well as a role model for the entire world.

The system of giving in the UAE included government entities, public and private institutions, and individual volunteers. The support and assistance programs initiated by the UAE over the years are landmarks in the track record of humanitarian giving and radiant leaves that assumed leading positions worldwide, including for example but not limited to, Zayed Giving, Dubai Giving, and the UAE Red Crescent whose projects extended to different parts worldwide.

H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan declaring 2017 as the Year of Giving represents a consolidation of the values of generosity and giving, instilling of the spirit of social responsibility, and a translation of all the sublime meanings and noble values distinguishing the UAE character and the belonging of the UAE to its wide human medium.
