H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, Acting CEO of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), stressed that raising investor awareness of financial markets lies at the heart of SCA's mission and goals and that SCA's board of directors is keenly following-up on the awareness issue. He noted the generous support and sponsorship that the national investor awareness project receives from SCA's board, chaired by H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy and Board Chairman.

Dr. Al Zaabi added that the coming period will witness intensified awareness activities and initiatives launched by SCA using different audio, visual, and digital communication means. He explained that short film clips will be shown on UAE-based TV channels. Etisalat, for its part, will sponsor the project by sending awareness messages via SMS, starting from next week and continuing for the next three months. These text messages will contain investment and legal information aimed to enhance the awareness of investors and financial market participants.

Dr. Al Zaabi further explained that more specialized seminars will be organized for market participants and that he will deliver lectures, according to a specified schedule, to respond to investor queries, as part of the direct personal contact activities, which will also include organizing awareness seminars, competitions, and exhibitions at shopping malls, plus participating in major events and exhibitions, such as the GITEX Technology Week Exhibition, which SCA will take part in next week.
