H.E. Sultan Al Mansoori honors H.E. Abdulla Al Turifi on the end of his tenure

Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy and Board Chairman of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), SCA held its 2016 Annual Get-Together under the motto “Reading is an investment in generations’ minds”.
The event brought together a number of economic figures, notably H.E. Mubarak Rashed Al Mansoori, Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates; H.E. Eng. Mohammed Al Shehhi, the Ministry of Economy’s Undersecretary for Economic Affairs; H.E. Abdullah Al Saleh, the Ministry of Economy’s Undersecretary for Foreign Trade and Industry; H.E. Mohammed bin Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates and SCA’s Deputy Board Chairman; and some board members, as well as H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and H.E. Ahmed bin Sulayem, Board Chairman of the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX).
During the ceremony, H.E. Al Mansoori honored H.E. Al Turifi on the end of his tenure as CEO of SCA. H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, Acting CEO; H.E. Mohammed Khalifa Al Hadari, Deputy CEO for Organizational and Supporting Services; and H.E. Dr. Maryam Al Suwaidi, Deputy CEO for Licensing, Supervision, and Enforcement also participated in the ceremony.
H.E. Al Mansoori gave a speech applauding SCA’s efforts over the past year and expressing his pride in the many awards SCA has won and in the local, regional, and global initiatives it launched. He reiterated that the UAE has a clear vision, an action plan, and a wise leadership that leads us to what is best for the country and its citizens. He applauded SCA’s distinguished performance, its outstanding regional initiatives that were in line with the best global practices, and its technical staff. He also extended his thanks to H.E. Al Turifi for his dedicated efforts, which were instrumental in bringing SCA’s performance up to its current level.
H.E. Al Zaabi also delivered a speech reviewing SCA’s most prominent achievements and the main objectives set under its strategic plan for the next period, as well as highlighting the importance of coordinating with strategic partners and of establishing the principles developed by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) as a general culture in our financial markets. He also applauded the efforts made by H.E. Al Turifi during his tenure and his wise management and promised to build on his achievements. H.E. Al Zaabi presented H.E. Al Turifi with a gift from SCA’s employees in recognition of his distinguished efforts and valuable contributions to SCA and the UAE securities sector. A documentary about H.E. Al Turifi’s most prominent achievements was also shown.
H.E. Saif Al Suwaidi also presented H.E. Al Turifi with a shield award in recognition of his invaluable contributions and achievements made over the past years. H.E. Al Turifi gave a speech expressing his thanks and pride in his tenure as CEO, as well as his appreciation of the support he received from H.E. Al Mansoori and the board members and SCA’s distinguished efforts, which were critical in its success.
During the ceremony, H.E. Al Mansoori honored SCA employees and teams who won Al Forsan Awards, including Khalid Al Zaabi, Supervision Department Director, who won the SCA Knight Award; the Technical Committee Team led by Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi; the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Follow-Up Team led by H.E. Dr. Maryam Al Suwaidi; the Innovation Team led by H.E. Mohammed Al Hadari as well as its sub-committees. Among the honorees were winners of the Outstanding Effort Awards, the Outstanding Impact Award, the Outstanding Employee Awards, and the Unknown Soldier Awards.
The event included a documentary about SCA’s performance and its prominent activities over the course of 2015.
